POLAND PASSES BILL TO LEGALISE MEDICAL CANNABIS

Poland’s lower house of parliament (Sejm) has voted overwhelmingly in favour of making medical cannabis legal “under certain circumstances”.

Industrial hemp remains a niche crop in Europe. Only 25,000 hectares of EU land was used for hemp production in 2016 producing an estimated value of €40m – half of which was in France.

However, we believe that this sector is relevant because the core skills of producing and processing hemp can be transferred and scaled into the larger and potentially higher margin medicinal and recreation markets over the coming years.
