Join us on Wednesday 7th April at 3pm BST (10am EST) for the launch webinar of our 6th Edition of the European Report.

We are joined by Dylan Kennett from DLA Piper, Timo Bongartz from Fluence by OSRAM, and Conor O’Brien (Industry Analyst), in conversation with Barbara Pastori to discuss the pressing issues surrounding the European market.

Despite regulatory delays due to COVID-19, patient access to medical cannabis progressed considerably across Europe during 2020. We estimate that over 60,000 people were able to access cannabis medications for the first time in Europe during the year, bringing the total to 185,000 patients accessing medical cannabis treatment in the region in 2020.

Overall, we estimate the value of the market for medical cannabis to be worth €230.7 million as of the end of 2020. Further, we expect the value of European cannabis to grow with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 67.4%, to reach €3.2 billion in 2025. Part of this growth will be supported by the beginning of sales of adult-use cannabis in Europe which are expected to occur legally in countries like the Netherlands, Switzerland and Luxembourg during the forecast period.

As the patient access to medical cannabis advances across Europe, so too do the opportunities for businesses to embed themselves in niches of the value chain, before the market becomes more established. This report is designed to support businesses in doing so, along with the conferences offered by Prohibition Partners Live as well as our Consulting services for cannabis and psychedelic ventures.”
