Medical cannabis — overview

In Belgium, the medical use of pure CBD in magistral preparations is legal, all other forms of medical cannabis are not permitted.

Though CBD was never considered illegal in the country, it existed in a legal grey area until 2019, when its distinction from THC and its legal position as a non-narcotic was clarified.

Currently, general practitioners and specialists can prescribe CBD treatment to patients at their discretion.

Magistral CBD products are available as an oil or capsule, prepared by a magistral pharmacist from pure CBD in API form.
