Overview

Legalised the cultivation and manufacture of medical cannabis in 2016.

Since then, has become one of the largest producers and exporters of medical cannabis in Europe.

companies licensed to produce medical cannabis (as of 2022), but only a fraction have succeeded in producing/exporting commercially.

Several companies have achieved EU-GMP certification for cannabis-related manufacturing.

Positioned as a key medical cannabis production hub in Europe.

Patient treatment with medical cannabis also legalised in 2016, though patient access is extremely limited.
