FIRST SALES OF LEGAL ADULT-USE CANNABIS IN EUROPE DUE IN 2022

The first pilot project trial for the legalised sales of adult-use cannabis in Basel, Switzerland, was approved by the Swiss Government last week. This means that the first legal sales of adult-use cannabis in Europe since prohibition began will be achieved by late summer this year.

Public opinion has been gradually swaying towards favouring cannabis legalisation over the last few years. In Switzerland, over 65% of people ‘favour’ or ‘strongly favour’ cannabis legalisation.

Prohibition Partners explores the evolution of adult-use legalisation in Europe in depth in our recent Adult-Use Cannabis in Europe Report.
