Medical cannabis — overview

Germany’s estimated medical cannabis market size for 2025 is over €670 million.

The market has grown rapidly following the MedCanG law (April 2024), which removed cannabis from Germany’s list of narcotics (BtMG), reducing bureaucracy and launching the industry to new heights.

Germany’s market is the largest in Europe, with a strong supply chain of importers, distributors, pharmacies (retail & online), and telemedicine clinics.

While still import-reliant, domestic production is scaling up to compete internationally.
